CALL FOR PAPERS – IRCAM 2026

The Journal Investigación en Recursos Amazónicos (IRCAM) , published by the Institución Universitaria del Putumayo, in its commitment to the generation and dissemination of scientific knowledge about the Amazon, invites the national and international academic community to submit unpublished articles for its 2026 editorial process.

The journal is framed within the institutional research line "Territorial Transformation and Sustainable Regional Development", adopted by the Academic Council of UNIPUTUMAYO, and aims to contribute to the sustainable management and use of Amazonian resources from a multidisciplinary approach.

PRIORITY THEMATIC LINES

Articles must address one of the following research sub-lines, all articulated with the institutional research line:

3. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Applied

• ICT for territorial development and sustainability

4. Agricultural, Forestry and Veterinary Sciences

• Environmental sustainability, bioeconomy and territorial management
• Sustainable animal production in Amazonian ecosystems
• Wildlife conservation and native species management
• Intercultural education, communication and governance for territorial development

 

TYPES OF ACCEPTED ARTICLES

  • Research articles:Original results from completed research projects.
  • Review articles:State of the art or critical analysis of the literature on a relevant topic.
  • Short communications:Significant advances, preliminary data or novel findings.
  • Case studies:Concrete experiences, case analyses or interventions in the Amazon region.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Originality and unpublished work:The manuscript must not have been previously published or be under evaluation by another journal.
  • Languages:Articles are accepted in Spanish, Portuguese and English.
  • Format:Manuscripts must strictly adhere to the journal's Author Guidelines, available on our OJS platform (structure, maximum length, citation system, figure and table formatting, etc.).
  • Affiliation and ORCID:The complete institutional affiliation of all authors and their respective ORCID codes must be included.
  • Letter of originality:Authors must sign a declaration of originality and copyright transfer, in accordance with the form available on the journal's website.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

All manuscripts will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process, ensuring the quality, originality, relevance and scientific rigor of the published contributions.

The editorial process comprises the following stages:

  1. Preliminary reviewby the Editorial Committee (compliance with guidelines and thematic relevance).
  2. Peer reviewby academic specialists in the field.
  3. Notification of resultsto the corresponding author.
  4. Revisions and adjustmentssuggested by the reviewers.
  5. Final approval and publication.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR ARTICLE

Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the IRCAM OJS portal:

To submit, authors must:

  1. Create an account on the OJS portal (if they do not already have one).
  2. Follow the submission wizard, completing all required metadata.
  3. Upload the manuscript in Word or PDFformat, complying with the author guidelines.
  4. Upload the letter of originality and copyright transfer(form available on the journal's website).
