Abstract

The present study was done at the Instituto Tecnológico del Putumayo, a public institution of superior education, compromised with regional growth, dedicated to the formation of technologists and professionals throughout propaedeutics cycles. This study’s principal objective is to collect and analyze information related to the institution academic enrollment. The study presents an analysis of student dropout and the financial impact on The Instituto Tecnológico del Putumayo, taking as a reference the year 2020 cataloged as the year of the COVID 2019 pandemic. This research included two stages: a compilation of information on dropout and the balance financial, through which the state of desertion was determined, and other analytics, which compare the economic behavior of the years 2019 and 2020 both at the technological level and at the professional level. The results allowed to establish that the drop-out in 2020 was low, only registered in technology and professionalization of 8.3%, despite the health situation, change of educational modality and economic difficulty of the community. In addition, it allows determining that due to the pandemic in 2020 there was a low increase in student dropouts and the Institute was economically affected slightly.
